जिस उम्र में एक छत के नीचे थोड़ा आराम मिल पाता तब वो जिंदगी भर मजदूरी से बनाए मकान को तोड़े जाने के बाद कहीं त्रिपाल के नीचे जिंदगी का संघर्ष शुरू से कर रहा है। ऐसी ही बहुत सी खोरी गांव के मजदूरों की कहानियां ख़ोरी गांव उजाड़े जाने के बाद बहुत दूर-दूर तक अब बिखर पर पड़ी है।

Aging and no roof over his head: Hamid’s struggle!!

Khori Gaon was supposed to be Hamid’s opportunity to rest; a home built with his life’s savings. At an age when people retire and relax, Hamid is struggling to survive under a tarpaulin sheet. This is the narrative of many labourers like Hamid, who have suffered greatly due to the government and the court’s apathy towards the poor.

We are a group of activists and academics working in the field of environment, housing and informality who came together to join Khori Gaon residents in their long fight for justice. This collaboration we have undertaken with the residents is called Saathi which means comrade in Hindi.
